SAFIRE (Stanmore’s Association For Independent Retired Enthusiasts) is Stanmore & Canons Park Synagogue’s very popular social club, especially for retired and semi-retired people.
SAFIRE meets once a week during term time in the Freeman Susman Hall. The afternoon begins with the opportunity to buy a delicious, homemade lunch or snack from Café Schmooze or simply catch up with other SAFIRE members and friends. We then have our main group event, typically a speaker or some interactive game or discussion, followed by tea.
SAFIRE is run by a dedicated team of volunteers who pride themselves on offering an exceptionally warm welcome to all our visitors. Everyone is welcome – you do not have to be a member of Stanmore Shul, although those who are receive a discount off their annual SAFIRE subscription.
SAFIRE subscriptions include attendance and tea at approximately 36 meetings a year and cost £45 (just £35 for Stanmore shul members). The subscription year starts in September, but you can join anytime with your subscription rate pro-rata’d accordingly. All visitors are entitled to one free trial session before they need to pay.
