We had an absolutely fabulous time at Purim in the Emerald City!
Everyone really embraced the dress-up theme, and we saw some amazing costumes—from adorable scarecrows to wicked witches to perfect Dorothys—and even a surprise appearance from Donald Trump!
The Great and Powerful Oz (aka Rabbi Eli) kept the energy high with hilarious Wizard of Oz-themed challenges. Tables tackled everything from deciphering cryptic messages to creating collaborative portraits where the paintbrush changed hands every 30 seconds! (Those masterpieces are now proudly displayed in the shul foyer!).
We also had some wonderful acts of kindness, like shining shoes and mixing cocktails for other tables.
The food was delicious, and a huge thank you to everyone who made it happen: Sophie Kleiman, Suzi Slatkin, Corinne Linskell, Laurence Vogel, and all the fantastic volunteers who helped set up, decorate, and serve.
To top it all off, Stanmore’s very own wizard, Daniel Bower, dazzled us with his incredible magic.
It was a truly fantastic evening! A massive well done to everyone who contributed to its success.
