Yom Hazikaron & Yom Haatzmaut 2025

Be part of a meaningful and impactful evening at Stanmore Shul as we commemorate Yom HaZikaron and celebrate Yom Ha’atzmaut 2025. The night will begin with a Yom HaZikaron service, where we honour the brave soldiers who have fallen in defence of Israel. This year, we remember all those lost in the conflict since 7th October, acknowledging the sacrifices made by the soldiers and the families whose lives have been changed forever. This moment of remembrance will be a tribute to their courage, sacrifice, and commitment to Israel.

As we transition from remembrance to celebration, we will mark the 77th anniversary of Israel’s independence with added meaning. After Maariv, enjoy a delicious Israeli-style buffet, followed by a communal “Sing for Israel” session led by Galit Shear.

We invite you to join us for this special occasion, where we come together to honour the past and celebrate Israel’s enduring strength. In the face of this past year’s challenges, we reflect on Israel’s remarkable history, the sacrifices that have shaped the nation, and the resilience and hope that define its future.

Schedule:

6:45pm: Mincha (Shul)

7:00pm: Yom HaZikaron ceremony (Shul)

7:30pm: Yom Ha’atzmaut Maariv service (Shul)

7:45pm – Buffet supper (FSH)

8:15pm – Sing for Israel with Galit Shear, featuring Eyal Golan’s hit ‘Am Yisrael Chai’ (FSH)

9:30pm – Dessert 

10:00pm – Finish
