LSJS Exodus Tour of the British Museum

March 23, 2025 @ 10:30 am - 12:30 pm

This event is now sold out! Please join our waiting list below.

Why is this night different from all other nights?

Experience a pre-Pesach immersive educational experience like no other with LSJS as you tour the British museum through the lens of history, archaeology and tradition.

Who was the Pharaoh of the Haggadah? Did the plagues really happen? Is there any evidence that the Exodus happened? What was the geopolitical situation at the time? What did it really mean to be ‘slaves to Pharaoh in Egypt’?

Beyond all of the above, our understanding of the Torah’s description of the Exodus story must be complemented with an understanding of Ancient Egyptian customs, concepts and beliefs. Through the statues, tombs and hieroglyphs, as well as the biblical text, this tour will transform your Seder night experience.

Run by Michelle Sint, educator for LSJS. Michelle studied English, American and Hebrew Literature (BA) and Jewish Studies (MA). Michelle is a graduate of the LSJS Susi Bradfield Women Educators’ Fellowships, she teaches and guides tours, and teaches the Matan Bat Mitzvah course.

With thanks to Belmont United Synagogue for partnering with us for this event.

For security reasons, our meeting point will be confirmed nearer the time via email.
