Stories of Resilience: Remembering October 7th

October 12, 2025 @ 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm

Stories of Resilience: An Evening of Hope and Inspiration
Reflecting on Two Years Since October 7th

Sunday, 12th October
7:30 – 9:30 PM
Stanmore & Canons Park Synagogue

Followed by refreshments and singing in the succah

Two years on from the horrors of October 7th, we come together as a community as Am Yisrael – to remember, to draw strength, and to affirm our future. In the face of darkness the Jewish people have always chosen life, resilience, and rebuilding. This evening will reflect not only on the pain of loss, but on the unbreakable spirit of our nation.

We are honoured to welcome our special panelists, who embody this strength and courage:

Yonatan Haber
Yonatan was called up to reserve duty in the early hours of the day. By noon, he was on base, deployed to Kfar Aza as unit lead for operations and logistics. Despite lacking proper gear or supplies, Yonatan and his men rescued countless civilians from the kibbutz.

Shir Zohan
Shir was at the Nova Festival on the morning of Oct 7th. For five harrowing hours, Shir and her best friend hid, enduring relentless rocket fire from Gaza and the constant threat of death. They were saved thanks to the bravery of Ori Arad, who lost his life protecting others.

We look forward to joining with you for this important evening.
